After consulting with the Home Ministry, the three CDOs of the Kathmandu valley have decided to extend the ongoing lockdown for a week.
Kathmandu is in lockdown since Bhadra 03. During this time, the public was only allowed to travel short distances around their place of residence for essential services like food, medicine, etc.
The extended lockdown is expected to be loosened a bit. However, hotels, restaurants, and free travel will still be restricted. The detailed notice will be issued from the authority shortly.
Meanwhile, NEPSE is on a bullish run amidst the lockdown. At a time when investors can place their trades online or only by calling their brokers, NEPSE has gained record-high points and turnover. Just today, NEPSE had the third-highest turnover of all time. Interestingly, the Hydropower sector gained the most 9.3% today.
What do you think is the reason for NEPSE's rally even during uncertain times like this? Drop your opinion in the comment section.
