Loan Investment in Karnali Rises by Over 25%, Service Sector Leads

Karnali Province has witnessed a significant boost in loan investment, reaching Rs. 59.22 billion, reflecting a 25.20% increase compared to the previous period, as per the latest report from Nepal Rastra Bank.
The service sector dominated the investment landscape, receiving Rs. 50.27 billion, up by 27.33%, and accounting for 84.89% of the total loans disbursed in the province.
In the industrial sector, loan investment rose by 14.95% to Rs. 3.79 billion. Notably, loans to metal production, machinery, and electronics industries surged by 29.45%, while loans to agriculture, forestry, and beverage production declined by 15.29%.
The agriculture sector also saw positive momentum, with loans increasing by 14.01% to Rs. 5.15 billion. Among sub-sectors, the highest investment—Rs. 11 million—was directed toward seeds and seedlings.
District-wise, Surkhet topped the chart for agricultural loan disbursement at Rs. 1.85 billion, while Mugu received the least at Rs. 137.5 million.
