Kumari Bank Limited has joined the Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF), a global network that helps financial institutions measure and report greenhouse gas emissions from their loans and investments.

The bank will assess its financed emissions under PCAF’s global standards. The move will help Kumari Bank track the environmental impact of its lending and investment activities and factor climate risks into its financing decisions.

Arpan Paudel, Head of the Sustainable Banking Department at Kumari Bank, said the assessment would give the bank a clearer picture of emissions linked to its financing and help shape its climate-related plans. The bank said the initiative is part of its efforts to bring environmental factors into its lending and investment activities.

Kumari Bank has 279 branches, 296 ATMs, 41 extension counters, 40 branchless banking units and 1,233 POS terminals across Nepal.
