The 90 MW Marsyangdi River Hydropower Project, located across Gorkha, Lamjung, and Tanahun districts, is set to begin construction following a major financial agreement signed on Baisakh 31, 2082 (May 14, 2025). The semi-reservoir project, aimed at supplying clean energy to meet Nepal’s growing demand, secured NPR 15.19 billion in financing through a consortium led by Kumari Bank Limited, including several other major banks and the Employees Provident Fund.

This investment demonstrates strong support from the banking sector toward Nepal's renewable energy goals. The project is expected to enhance energy security, reduce dependence on fossil fuels, create jobs, and foster regional development. Construction is planned to start soon, with completion scheduled on time to deliver lasting economic and environmental benefits.
