Inside Nepal’s Newly Released Rs 1,000 Note; Governor Paudel Signature

Nepal Rastra Bank has released a newly designed Rs 1,000 banknote into circulation. While keeping its original size, the update features light green shading enclosed within a purple border. Issued with serial numbers starting from TA 92000001, the note bears the signature of Governor Prof. Dr. Bishwanath Poudel.

The front side showcases Mount Everest, a rhododendron watermark with the number "1000", and tactile marks including the Roman numeral "M" and horizontal lines to assist visually impaired users. It also includes an oval image of Goddess Bhagwati that shifts from gold to green when tilted, alongside a 3.5 mm dynamic security thread that shifts from red to green and displays "NRB" and "1000". Additionally, a see-through feature displays the full "1000" figure when held up to light.

The back side depicts Ram and Laxman rare twin elephants born to Devkali at the government elephant stable in Chitwan alongside an image of seven rhododendron flowers representing Nepal’s seven provinces. It also features the historic pillar from Hanuman Dhoka, "RUPEES ONE THOUSAND" text, and the series label "2025 A.D."
