Indian National Arrested in Kathmandu with Illegal Cash and Gold

An Indian national has been arrested in Kathmandu for allegedly possessing illegal cash and precious metals, police said on Thursday.

A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office took 33-year-old Amitirgonda Ghali into custody after discovering an undisclosed amount of Nepali currency, US dollars, gold, and silver in his possession.

According to authorities, Ghali is originally from the Sangli District of Maharashtra, India, but had been living in the Thahity area of Kathmandu. Police have launched an investigation to find out where the money and valuables came from and what they were going to be used for.
