India to Launch Seven High Impact Community Development Projects in Nepal
The Government of India is set to implement seven High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDP) across Nepal, following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration and the Embassy of India in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
India will provide a grant of NPR 473 million to fund these initiatives, which include the construction of school buildings, cold storages, and a maternity center. Local governments in various provinces will oversee the implementation of the projects.
Under the program, cold storage facilities will be established in Madhyabindu Municipality-2 of Nawalpur and Laligurans Municipality-2 of Terhathum. Educational infrastructure projects include the construction of a building with a dormitory and dining hall at Janbal Secondary School in Gharpajong Rural Municipality-2 of Mustang, and a new building for Kalika Primary School in Gauriganja Municipality-11 of Kailali.
A maternity center will be built in Paroha Municipality-4 of Rautahat, while school buildings for Kasturi Secondary School in Tripurasundari Municipality-7 of Dolpa and Janakalyan Secondary School in Khajura Rural Municipality-4 of Banke are also included under the HICDP program.
These projects aim to strengthen local infrastructure, improve education and healthcare facilities, and promote sustainable community development across Nepal.
