India security personnel had misbehaved to locals while constructing a road at the Tambaku area towards Nepal in June. India has widened the road towards its side after the government of Nepal kept a camp of Nepal Army at Ghatibagar.
A local Sher Singh Dhami shared that India has been expanding roads in the area. India has constructed roads taking Tambaku, Ghatibagar, Dopakhe, Pola, Budi, and other areas the areas towards its side using bull-dozer. India had not made any coordination with the Nepali side in course of bringing bull-dozer in Nepali territory.
The presence of Indian security forces has been increased and become regular after the Nepal Government issued its revised political and administrative map mentioning Kalapani, Lipulek, Limpiyadhura, Gunji, Nabi, and Kuti as its parts. Locals say they now see the remarkable presence of Indian security forces from Gunji to Kalapani to Nabidhangh unlike in the past.
It seems that the Indian side is much sensitive about the area. Indians are seen below the Kalapani area and hindering the movements of Nepali security forces and locals, according to Byas folks. The government has decided to set up the Armed Police Force (APF) no 50 company while the AFP’s BOP (border outpost) will be soon establishing at Kauwa and Tinker, the areas near to Kalapani.
The Nepal Army has also its camp in the area and the structure is said to be for the purpose of road construction projects. The API Nampa Conservation Area Office and the District Security Committee have proposed to depute Nepal Armies at Chhangru of Byas.
Chief District Officer Sharad Kumar Pokhrel said there may be the presence of armies to enhance the security mechanism as the management of border points is the top priority of district administration.
