India Gifts 61 Vehicles to Nepal for Election Management
The Government of India has gifted 61 vehicles to Nepal to support election management efforts ahead of the upcoming polls.
The vehicles were formally handed over to the Government of Nepal during a programme organized at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday. Officials from the Indian Embassy in Nepal and the Home Ministry attended the handover ceremony.
According to Home Ministry Spokesperson Anand Kafle, the 61 vehicles were delivered in the first phase, with more vehicles to be provided in the coming days. He said the Indian government has pledged to supply a total of 388 vehicles to Nepal for election-related purposes.
Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal stated that Nepal received the first batch of 61 vehicles on Tuesday as part of India’s commitment to provide logistical support for the elections. Expressing gratitude to the Indian government, he said the assistance would significantly contribute to ensuring effective election management across the country.
Minister Aryal emphasized that the vehicles would be deployed to facilitate the smooth conduct of the election, particularly in areas requiring enhanced logistical support.
The Government of Nepal has welcomed India’s continued cooperation, noting that such assistance plays an important role in strengthening democratic processes and ensuring free, fair, and well-managed elections.
