Hydro projects in limbo due to current crisis; Almost all project needs extension for completion

The major hydropower projects are in deep crisis due the current situation of Nepal.Massive earthquake and Four months long economic blockade resulted in lack of fuel which has shut down 500 MW Trishuli corridor project.
The work of Upper Trishuli-1, Rasuwagadhi, Sanjen, Madhya Trishuli Ganga has been affected. 111 MW Rashuwagadhi Hydroelectricity Project has been halted due to lack of fuel.
Equipments like Compressor, Doger, Excavator has not been in operation and as a result work related with the hydroelectricity project has been halted.
The investment in Rasuwagadhi Hydroelectricity Project is worth Rs 13.67 arba.
The project was expected to be completed by the end of 2016 but due earthquake and to lack of fuel it completion date has been postponed by 1 and half years.
The work of Upper Sanjen and Lower Sanjen which is under Chilime Hyropower Project, has also been halted due to the earthquake and economic blockade.
The capacity of Upper Sanjen is 14.8 MW and Lower Sanjen is 42 MW. The investment in Sanjen project is Rs 5.59 arba. Half of the work of Upper Sanjen has been halted.
Likewise, 216 MW Upper Trishuli 1 has also been affected. The work of Trishuli 3 A of 60 MW capacity has also been halted due to earthquake and lack of fuel.
