House panel to monitor hydel‚ irrigation projects

KATHMANDU:

The Agriculture and Water Resources Committee of the Parliament has decided to monitor two hydropower and three irrigation projects as their progress was not found satisfactory.

A meeting of the Committee held on Tuesday morning decided to conduct monitoring of Tamakoshi Hydrpower Project and Chameliya Hydropower Project under the Ministry of Energy and Sikta Irrigation Project, Ranijamara Kulariya Irrigation Project and Babai Irrigation Project under the Ministry of Irrigation.

The Parliament Secretariat said the meeting also extended the deadline of Agricultural Development Sub-Committee, Irrigation Sub-Committee, Land Reform and Management Sub-Committee, Energy Sub-Committee and Guthi Land Study Sub-Committee till mid-May.

The Committee also endorsed a report on Agricultural Development Strategy today.
