Home Minister Sudan Gurung has urged residents living along the Budhi Gandaki River in Gorkha district to move to safer locations immediately as the river’s water level continues to rise following a severe flood.

In a Facebook post, Gurung specifically called on residents of Sirdibas, Jagat, Salleri, Kholabesi, Machhakhola, Soti, Arkhet and Arughat to remain highly alert and relocate to safe areas. He also expressed concern over reports that a bridge connecting Nyakchet and Philim Bazaar in Chumnubri Rural Municipality-3, Gorkha, had been washed away.

Muddy floodwater had entered several houses in the Ghattekhola area, while the river’s flow continued to increase.
