Green Development Bank Joins NEPALPAY to Strengthen Domestic Card Ecosystem

Green Development Bank Limited has signed an agreement with Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL) to join the National Card Switch & Domestic Card Scheme (NEPALPAY Card) as a principal member. This partnership will allow Green Development Bank to issue and acquire NEPALPAY Cards once the NEPALPAY infrastructure is commercially launched.

The NPS-NCS initiative by NCHL aims to build a central infrastructure for domestic card transactions, ensuring interoperability, reducing reliance on international card networks, promoting data localization, and supporting innovation in Nepal's digital payment ecosystem. NCHL currently supports over 54 BFIs, most PSOs and PSPs, and 100+ technical members. Green Development Bank operates with 15 branches, offering modern banking services.
