Govt Recommends 13 Ambassadors, Including Envoys to India, China, US and UK

The Government of Nepal has recommended ambassadors for 13 countries, including India, China, the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Friday made the recommendations. According to the government, the proposed ambassadors include individuals with experience in leadership, expertise in different fields, and backgrounds in academic research and study.

Dr. Nischal Nath Pandey has been recommended as Nepal’s ambassador to India, while Dr. Kalyan Raj Sharma has been proposed for China. Chiran Jung Thapa has been recommended for the United States and former Chief of the Army Staff Gaurav Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana for the United Kingdom. Jigyān Kumar Thapa has been proposed for Japan and Suresh Kumar Karn for Israel.

Similarly, Prapti Sherchan has been recommended for Spain, Sharu Joshi for Germany, Dr. Padmakshi Rana for Oman, Chudamani Kharel for Malaysia, Prof. Dr. Sangam Shrestha for South Korea, Dr. Manchal Jha for Sri Lanka, and Giribahadur Sunar for Saudi Arabia.

The proposed ambassadors will now be sent for parliamentary hearings. After the hearings, the government will seek approval from the respective countries before making the appointments. Once approval is received, the President will formally appoint the ambassadors.
