Govt directed to improve quality of NT services
KATHMANDU:
The Development Committee of Legislature-Parliament has directed the Ministry of Information and Communications to take efforts to improve services of the Nepal Telecom.
A meeting of the Committee on Thursday instructed the Ministry to opt for advanced technology to increase the efficiency of NT services. The meeting urged the Ministry to expand the internet network services to villages, add BTS towers and maintain their quality, according to the Committee Chairperson Rabindra Adhikari.
The services of NT, one of the major telecommunication service providers in the country, draw the people’s concerns and that’s why its focus should be laid on customers’ satisfaction, the meeting stressed.
As per the company’s data till mid June, the number of its customers including users of GSM mobile, CDMA, PSTN (landline) services stood at 12,827,161.
The ADSL broadband service launched by the company is available in all 75 districts while the 3G service has permeated to 71 districts.
In the meeting, Minister for Information and Communications Minendra Rijal said the government is effortful to increase the quality of Telecom services with the adoption of advanced information technologies.
