Govt. active to transform traditional agriculture into modern one for farmer's welfare: Minister Pandey

Minister for Industry Som Prasad Pandey has said that the government was active regarding transforming traditional agriculture into modern one for the welfare of farmers. Speaking at an inaugural session of the three-day programme on media's role for improvement of agricultural production and the welfare of farmers in the Capital today, Minister Pandey stressed on the need of accelerating country's economic development through agriculture. He said that it was need of the hour to disseminate news about the government subsidising fertilizers and hybrid seeds to farmers to increase agricultural productions. Likewise, Anjana Tamrakar, General Manager at the National Productivity and Economic Development Center, pointed out the need of enhancing quality of journalists for the welfare of farmers. Industry secretary Jaya Mukunda Khanal also expressed his view. RSS
