Government unveils immediate reform action plan

In view of the changed constitutional set up, the government has unveiled an immediate reform action plan to accelerate reconstruction activities and make the development projects result oriented by ensuring people's equal access to public service.
The two-year action plan approved by the Council of Ministers two weeks back was made public by the Office of the Council of the Ministers on Thursday.
The action plan has aimed at contributing to country's sustainable development, prosperity and realization of change among public. It stresses legal, policy and structural arrangements as per the constitutional provisions by guarantying people oriented, accountable, transparent, and quality public service delivery.
Other areas it has laid emphasis are transitional management with policy reform, framing of new laws, sectoral responsibility, institutional organizational shake-up, empowerment of human resources, establishment of people-focused service centres, augmented use of information technology, alternative arrangement of essentials, strict implementation of building code, among others.
The two-year action plan consists of various 33 work plans from different ministries, commissions, secretariats and centres.
Visual Service from RSS
Under the public service delivery, the government has planned to begin visual service at National News Agency (RSS) and orient this institution towards self-reliance in two years. Also, the commercially important locations of the RSS will be utilized. RSS
