Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Bikram Timilsina, has said the government is preparing to modernize Nepal's postal services by collaborating with the private sector under a public-private partnership (PPP) model.

He made the remarks while addressing a high-level dialogue on the modernization of postal services held in Kathmandu on Tuesday. He stated that the government believes effective public service delivery can be achieved through stronger cooperation between the public and private sectors. He also stated that the government intends to develop postal services through a PPP framework while prioritizing reforms to improve the sector's efficiency and overall performance.

The minister also claimed that significant progress has already been made in strengthening postal services. However, he stressed that comprehensive policy and structural reforms are still necessary to meet the evolving needs of the sector. On the occasion, the minister also directed officials concerned to work towards transforming Nepal's postal service into an institution that the country can take pride in.
