Golyan Group Provides Daily Meals to 400 Flood-Affected People, Including 68 Families

Golyan Foundation has been providing food, basic healthcare and counseling to flood-affected families at the Chandrajyoti Secondary School holding center in Bidur, Nuwakot.

The foundation reached Bidur on Bhadra 10, a day after the floods, and began relief work. The holding center currently houses 68 families from the Devighat area. Including people from nearby communities, around 400 people receive three meals and snacks each day.

The foundation has also arranged basic medical care and counseling for children. Around 40 children are staying at the center. They have been provided with sports equipment, clothing and other essentials. Around 50 employees, volunteers and counselors have been deployed for the relief work. The team is led by Jyoti Gaire, Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications at Golyan Group and CEO of Golyan Foundation.

Golyan Group Chairman and Managing Director Akshay Golyan said the group plans to continue its support until conditions improve. It will also coordinate with government agencies to strengthen relief efforts. The group has also contributed Rs 100 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. Reliance Spinning Mills, a Golyan Group company, handed over the amount to Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle on Monday.

Managing Director Akshay Golyan and Director Shashikant Agrawal handed over the cheque. The company said the contribution was made to support government relief efforts following the disaster. Reliance Spinning Mills is one of Nepal’s major yarn producers, with manufacturing facilities in Duhabi and Khanar, Sunsari.
