Global IME Bank Leads Financing Deal for 166 MW Super Tamor Hydropower Project

A consortium led by Global IME Bank has signed a financial agreement for the 166 MW Super Tamor Hydropower Project, which will be developed by Crystal Power Development Pvt. Ltd. in Taplejung.

The project, with an estimated cost of around Rs. 25 Arba, will be financed by a consortium of banks including Siddhartha Bank, Laxmi Sunrise Bank, Prabhu Bank, Agricultural Development Bank, and Nepal SBI Bank. Together, the consortium will invest about Rs. 19 Arba, with Global IME Bank contributing Rs. 5 Arba as the lead arranger.

The remaining investment will be managed by the project’s promoters and other stakeholders. The project is expected to be completed within five years and will significantly boost Nepal’s energy production capacity and support electricity export potential. Bank officials expressed confidence that the project will strengthen the country’s energy sector. Global IME Bank also highlighted its extensive national and international presence, along with its achievements and awards in banking excellence and service delivery.
