Global IME Bank Concludes Nepal's First AI/ML Hackathon with Nationwide Participation
Global IME Bank successfully concluded Nepal’s first-ever “Global IME AI/ML Hackathon,” aiming to promote innovation in technology-based banking services. Held in two phases, the event attracted 21 teams from across Nepal, including Kathmandu, Pokhara, Birgunj, and Dharan. Team Calculus won the top prize of Rs 100,000, with other prizes awarded to WDK, Larke Pass, Team Janakpur, Fredex, and Digivits.
NRB Deputy Governor Bam Bahadur Mishra, the chief guest, praised the initiative for encouraging youth participation in fintech innovation. CEO Surendra Raj Regmi highlighted the bank’s commitment to digital transformation and future collaboration with top-performing teams. The hackathon reflects Global IME Bank's broader mission to enhance digital banking and maintain its recognition as Nepal's leading financial institution.
