Fonepay Credit Card has surpassed 50,000 users within just over two years of its launch, highlighting the growing adoption of digital credit services in Nepal.

As Nepal’s first fully virtual credit card integrated directly into mobile banking apps, the service allows customers to apply for, receive, and activate a credit card instantly through participating banks. It is currently available through nine partner banks and can be used to scan and pay at more than 2 million Fonepay QR merchants nationwide.

Fonepay CEO Diwas Kumar said the milestone demonstrates the rapid shift toward digital and inclusive credit, noting that Fonepay Credit Card reached 50,000 users in two years compared with more than three decades taken by traditional credit cards to reach over 300,000 cards.

Fonepay said it plans to further expand the service through stronger partnerships, product innovation, and improved customer experiences, with the aim of making digital credit accessible to millions of Nepalis.
