Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle to Meet US Treasury Secretary and World Bank President

Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle, who is currently visiting the United States, is scheduled to meet US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and World Bank Group President Ajay Banga on Monday.

According to the Finance Minister’s Secretariat, the meetings will focus on strengthening Nepal’s economic partnership and cooperation with the United States and the World Bank. Discussions will also cover increasing bilateral support, reconstruction, Nepal’s efforts to exit the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list, and broader economic reforms.

Wagle is also expected to discuss additional support for the reconstruction and recovery of physical and economic infrastructure damaged by recent floods in the Bhotekoshi area. During his visit, he is also scheduled to meet senior officials of the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and leading private-sector investors.
