Finance Committee to Consult Experts on Fomulation of Budget FY 2083/84
The Finance Committee under the House of Representatives has decided to hold consultations with experts regarding the formulation of the budget for the upcoming fiscal year 2083/84.
During its fourth meeting, the committee approved a list of eight experts who will be invited to upcoming meetings to provide suggestions and recommendations to the government on budget preparation.
Committee Chair KrishnaHari Budhathoki said that thematic subcommittees formed under the committee had presented their preliminary reports, highlighting various gaps and findings related to different sectors. Lawmakers also raised concerns regarding the current budget and the budget formulation process.
The committee has directed the subcommittees to prepare an additional five to ten recommendations related to their respective areas and submit them in the next meeting. Budhathoki said the committee plans to provide further suggestions and directives to the government based on expert consultations, subcommittee reports, and issues raised by lawmakers.
