KATHMANDU:

Bidders will soon get all the notices and bid-forms for public procurement from a single portal (website) and can submit their bids from that platform.

The website, http://www.bolpatra.gov.np, developed by the Public Procurement Monitoring Office (PPMO) in a bid to expedite e-bidding process has already provided access to bidders for some public entities namely, Department of Local Infrastructure Development and Agricultural Roads, the Department of Irrigation, and the Department of Water Supply and Sewerage in the pilot phase, according to PPMO Spokesperson Naresh Chapagain.

“We are excited with the results of the pilot phase and preparing to include other major public entities like the

Department of Roads, the Department of Urban Development and Building Construction, Nepal Electricity Authority and Nepal Telecom, among others, in this platform by March,” said Chapagain. PPMO is also developing another portal for Public Procurement Management Information System (PPMIS), from where people can get information regarding the developments of all the public procurements.

Once PPMO successfully brings all the public entities in the common platform for e-bidding (submission), the Office would develop the e-opening system of the bid documents, online evaluation and contract management in the second phase, as per PPMO. PPMO has said that e-bidding will shorten the bid submission process and maintain transparency.
