Dudh Koshi Hydropower Secures Financial Closure for 70 MW Dudhkoshi-2 Project, Boosting Clean Energy in Koshi Region

Dudh Koshi Hydropower Nepal Pvt. Ltd. has achieved financial closure for the 70 MW Dudhkoshi-2 (Jaleshwor) Hydropower Project in Solukhumbu, Koshi Province.

The project, with a total cost of NPR 1,500 crore, is financed by a consortium led by Laxmi Sunrise Bank Ltd., with Everest Bank Ltd. as co-lead and Sanima Bank Ltd. as a member, and a debt-to-equity ratio of 70:30. Construction is scheduled to begin in Kartik 2082, targeting completion within four years.

The hydropower project is a 6-hour peaking scheme utilizing the Dudhkoshi River, featuring a 135m gross head, side intake, concrete-lined headrace tunnel of 4,677.58m, vertical shaft Francis turbines (2 x 35 MW), and a 12 km 132 kV transmission line to the NEA Tinla Substation.

The project will deliver 417.41 GWh annually, providing clean, reliable energy while boosting economic activities in the Koshi region. The leadership team includes experienced developers and institutional investors supporting its strategic and sustainable growth.
