Dr. Yogendra Prasad Singh Appointed Chairperson of BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital
The government has appointed senior doctor Dr. Yogendra Prasad Singh as the new chairperson of the BP Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital in Chitwan.
Following his appointment, Dr. Singh officially took his oath of office and secrecy today from Nisha Mehta, the Minister for Health and Food Safety.
The position became available after the previous chairperson's term ended. A government selection committee had shortlisted three final candidates from the pool of applicants: Dr. Yogendra Prasad Singh, Dr. Ajay Kumar Jha, and Dr. Bijay Chandra Acharya. From this final list, the government chose Dr. Singh for the leadership role.
Dr. Singh is a highly respected figure in the medical community, having recently retired after 46 years of service at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH). With the completion of his swearing-in ceremony, he has officially assumed his responsibilities as the head of the cancer hospital.
