Dr. Gunakar Bhatt has been appointed as Vice Chairman of Nepal's National Planning Commission (NPC). The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting held today at 1:00 Pm, as confirmed by Federal Affairs and Administration Minister Pratibha Rawal.

Dr. Bhatt, who previously served as Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank, brings significant experience in economics and financial policy to the role. As Vice Chairman, he will oversee the day-to-day operations of the country's apex development planning body.

The National Planning Commission is the apex advisory body of the Government of Nepal, responsible for formulating national development plans and policies. It plays a central role in assessing resource needs, identifying funding sources, and allocating budgets for socio-economic development. The commission is formally chaired by the Prime Minister, with the Vice Chairman leading its day-to-day operations.
