Dr Chiranjivi Nepal appointed as new Governor

The meeting of cabinet held today has selected Dr Chiranjivi Nepal as the new Governor. A three-member recommendation committee formed under the finance minister Dr. Ramsharan Mahat had recommended 3 names for the post of Governor to the cabinet of Ministers.
Dr Chiranjivi Nepal holds a doctorate degree on the subject of labor and economy and is the current financial advisor of Prime Minister Sushil Koirala. Prior to this, he was chief economic advisor of the Ministry of Finance. He is also a visiting faculty at Kathmandu University.
He has been the General Secretary of Nepal Economic Association .He has served a three year term as General Secretary of Nepal South Asia Centre since 1997. He was a Senior Advisor at FNCCI for two years and Chairman of SEBON for 14 months. Besides this, Dr Nepal was associated with World Bank as Consultant and Coordinator, Asian Development Bank as Consultant, Higher Secondary Education Board as Director, and Deputy Prime Minister's Office and Foreign Ministry as Advisor.
