DM Foundation has joined hands with FMNW (Former Miss Nepals) to create scholarship programs in the country. This scholarship will help fund the educational expenses of children whose education has been affected after losing their parents to COVID-19. Taking into account the uncertain future of these children and how vulnerable their lives have become after losing their primary caretakers, the FMNW scholarship aims to support them in continuing their education and not drop out of school.

The scholarship program welcomes donations from any individuals or organizations. Interested individuals or organizations can proceed funding to this program in DM Foundation’s official bank account in Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. and Civil Bank Ltd. The funding can also be forwarded by scanning QR Codes of Cellpay, Fonepay and E-Sewa listed in the official website www.ims-np.com/fmnw-scholarship.

Eligible students can apply for this scholarship through the above-mentioned official website. To be eligible, student must have lost one or both parents to COVID-19. With the belief that the children are the future of our country and that education will help them prosper, DM Foundation will be dedicated to supporting as many children as possible through the FMNW Scholarship.

FMNW has constantly been involved in various social causes like raising awareness on menstrual taboos, environmental practices like thrifting, conducting programs for Youth Motivation, Cancer Awareness and fundraisers. FMNW has also done some notable work in providing relief in various parts of the country, during the pandemic.

DM Foundation initiated the DM Scholarship back in 2014, where students were selected on the basis of financial need and academic excellence. The Foundation started relief efforts during the 2015 earthquake and has since contributed during natural disasters and outbreaks. During the first COVID-19 breakout, the production of over a crore masks and 15 lakh masks donated DM Foundation singlehandedly stopped the black market pricing and scarcity of masks. The second wave required supply of oxygen cylinders, concentrators which the Foundation imported from China in its relief efforts.

The FMNW Scholarship is a national project initiated by DM Foundation and FMNW, but will require support from Nepali donors, at home and abroad, to make it successful. The objective to help every child affected, can only be met if we join hands and ensure their basic right to education is not taken away from them along with their parents.
