Dirghayu Kumar Shrestha Appointed Nepal Electricity Authority Executive Director

Dirghayu Kumar Shrestha has been appointed as the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Friday decided to appoint Shrestha to the position, according to government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel.

Shrestha had previously been serving as the Acting Executive Director of the NEA.

He assumed the acting role after former Executive Director Hitendra Dev Shakya was automatically relieved of his position following an ordinance issued by the government on Baishakh 19.

With Friday’s cabinet decision, Shrestha has now been formally appointed as the Executive Director of the state-owned power utility.
