Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City unveils Rs 2.64 billion budget for FY 2026/27

Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City has presented a total budget of Rs 2.64 billion for the upcoming fiscal year 2026/27, focusing on infrastructure development, social services, and employment generation.

Deputy Mayor Kandakala Kumari Rana made the budget public during the 15th session of the Municipal Assembly held today. Of the total allocation, Rs 1.43 billion has been earmarked for current expenditure, while Rs 1.23 billion has been allocated for capital expenditure.

The budget outlines multiple revenue sources, including Rs 550 million from internal income, Rs 600 million from revenue sharing, and Rs 1.67 billion from fiscal transfers from the federal and provincial governments.

According to the municipal plan, priority has been given to infrastructure construction, education, health services, employment creation, and public welfare programs. The city will also continue its “city pride” projects and strengthen ward-level health clinics.

To improve development efficiency, the municipality plans to establish a project bank and gradually implement inclusion-focused programs. It also aims to organize skills and employment fairs to promote self-employment among youth through vocational training.
