Demat by numbers: Till now 9,61,16,221 units demat shares; 81,380 beneficial owners of demat account

As per Central Depository System and Clearing Limited (CDSC) website, of around 232 listed companies , 112 have registered themselves for the dematerialization process out of which 106 companies are already being traded in demat form. The remaining six registered companies are Innovative Development Bank Limited, Western Development Bank Limited, Nepal Community Development Bank Limited, Araniko Development Bank Limited, Salt Trading Corporation Limited and Narayani National Finance Limited.
Besides, there are 32 companies in the pipeline for admission of securities with the CDSC.
A total of 9,61,16,221 units of physical shares of 106 companies has already been brought into 'Demat system'.
At present there have been a total number of 81,380 beneficial owners of Demat Account and total licensed depository participants at CDSC has reached 45.
