Curfew Imposed in Birgunj Following Youth Clash
The District Administration Office, Parsa, has imposed a curfew in parts of Birgunj Metropolitan City after clashes broke out among youth groups on Sunday evening. The curfew came into effect from 9:45 AM, Monday, and will remain in place until further notice, officials said.
According to Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal, the curfew covers the area bounded by Bypass Road in the east, Sirsiya River in the west, Gandak Chowk in the north, and Shankaracharya Gate in the south.
Within this perimeter, all movement is prohibited, and gatherings, including rallies, protests, meetings, or assemblies, are strictly banned.
Vehicles and personnel providing essential services, journalists, university exam candidates, exam staff, tourist vehicles, and vehicles associated with human rights and diplomatic missions have been allowed to move under the curfew. Additionally, security personnel will facilitate air passengers traveling with valid flight tickets to ensure minimal disruption.
The District Administration Office has urged the public to cooperate and stay indoors while the curfew is in force to maintain peace and safety in the city.
