Construction works begin in Halesi

The construction works are taking place in popular religious and tourism site Halesi of Khotang in line with its master plan. The construction works have been taken ahead when the locals started constructing huts by encroaching upon the temple's land. Executive Director of Halesi Development Committee Sambhar Bhujel said a survey was carried out to demarcate the land registered in the name of the committee and its bordering land. "The previous master plan was reviewed so as to develop the next plan. The land survey was also done", he said, adding, "We are making preparation to make the new plan public soon". Top priority has been placed on mainly three things for the long-term development of Halesi, Bhujel added. Among the prioritized works are identification of the encroached land, seeking compensation of the land from the state and bringing the adjoining land to the name of the temple in an effort to develop the site as a special tourism hub.
