Construction of Rs 500m hotel begins

BIRTAMOD, SEP 08 -
Four young entrepreneurs have sunk Rs 500 million in a hotel project at Buttabari of Anarmani Municipality in Jhapa district. Construction started on Saturday and is scheduled to be completed in two years.
The Hotel Nilgiri, which will be of three-star standard, will be the first star hotel in Mechi zone, said the investors Govinda Lohani, Chitra Kumar Kuikel, Hom Pandey and Devi Mainali.
The 76-room hotel will occupy 5 bighas and 9 katthas of land. It will offer facilities like spa, swimming pool, health club and three party and seminar halls.
According to the promoters, they are also building expensive rooms targeting foreign guests. Once the hotel comes into operation, it will create an estimated 125 jobs.
Lohani said the hotel would be the “jewel” of Birtamod , one of the main trade hubs in eastern Nepal. “We hope that the hotel will be the first choice of domestic and foreign tourists visiting eastern Nepal,” he added.
