Constitutional Council Recommends Justice Manoj Sharma as Next Chief Justice

The Constitutional Council has recommended Supreme Court Justice Dr. Manoj Sharma for appointment as the next Chief Justice.

A meeting of the Council held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister and Constitutional Council Chairperson Balendra Shah endorsed Sharma’s name for the top judicial post.

After the meeting, Speaker Dol Prasad Aryal confirmed that Sharma had been proposed as the next Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

Following the Council’s recommendation, the parliamentary hearing committee will conduct the necessary hearing process before the official appointment is finalized.

Sharma is poised to become the 33rd Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
