Commercial Banks' Status on the Basis of Reserves (Q4 Exclusive Study)

Let us find out how much reserve commercial banks have?
Talking about the reserve, Nabil Bank Limited (NABIL) has the highest reserve among all the 30 commercial banks. Its reserve stands at Rs 6.11 arba where as Nepal Investment Bank Limited has the second highest reserve of Rs 5.13 arba.
Other banks with high reserves are ADBL, EBL and SCB.
The average reserve of all the banks as of 4th Quarter is 1.67 arba. 13 banks have reserves more than average and 17 have reserves below average. Three banks namely Grand Bank Ltd., Rastriya Banijya Bank Ltd. and Nepal Bank Ltd. have reserves in negative.
Whereas talking about the growth of reserve, Janata Bank’s reserve has gone up by 98.41 percent in the last fiscal year compared to the reserve of fiscal year 2070/71. Janta Bank is closely followed by Sunrise Bank with a growth of 79.07% during the same period.
The average rate of growth in reserves compared to last year is 18.37%.
