Commercial banks share price at 1175 (2008) index and at 1200.92 (2015) index (comparative study)

NEPSE has created history by breaching it’s all-time high index of 1175.55 levels. Today NEPSE increased by 9 points to end at new high of 1200.92 benchmark index.

Back in August 31,2008 the market had jumped to a high of 1,175 levels and its after seven years that NEPSE index has been successful in creating a new high of 1200.92 levels.

The total turnover on August 31,2008 was Rs 13.84 crore and on August 20,2015 it stood at Rs 48.32 crore.  

The pattern of growth now and then is somewhat similar.

Now let us match up the prices of the commercial banks, which were traded on August 31, 2008 and also on August 20, 2015. Comparatively the share prices of all most all Commercial Banks were higher in August 31, 2008.

On August 31, 2008 the share price of  Standard Chartered Bank Limited (SCB) stood at Rs 8,010 whereas on August 20, 2015 its at Rs 2,999.

The share price of Himalayan Bank Limited (HBL) was Rs 2,463 on August 31 ,2008 whereas its last traded price as on August 20,2015 stands at Rs 1,395.

Nabil Bank (NABIL) share price back then was at Rs 5,850 and at present its at Rs 2,695.

Its only NCC Bank, whose  share price is higher now compared to the price of August 31, 2008. Its Price on August 20, 2015 stands at Rs 499.
