Civil Bank, Mercy Corps sign deal

KATHMANDU, Feb 26:

Civil Bank Ltd and Mercy Corps have signed an agreement to upgrade Carpet and Pashmina industries by selecting and extending credit to firms for clean production practices.

Civil Bank´s CEO Kishore Maharjan and Mercy Corp´s Country Director Sanjay Karki signed an agreement in this regard amid a ceremony held on Tuesday.

 Issuing a statement, the bank said it will also provide necessary financial consultancy and trainings for firms. “The agreement will be instrumental in advancing Nepal´s very own carpet and pashmina industries by increasing their capacity and thereby playing a significant role in increasing the nation´s exports,” the statement quoted Kishore Maharjan, CEO of the Bank, as saying.
