Citizens Bank marked World Environment Day 2025 with a large-scale tree plantation program in Janakpurdham, Dhanusha, under the theme “Beat the Plastic.” Held on 26th Jestha 2082 (June 9, 2025), the initiative involved planting over 100 saplings to combat climate change and promote environmental conservation as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.

The bank, already active in CSR through health camps and educational support, continues to lead with innovation. Recently honored as “Bank of the Year 2024,” Citizens Bank introduced Nepal’s first virtual credit card in partnership with FonePay and enabled cross-bank teller services via QR scans.

Serving over 1.9 million customers through 200 branches across 61 districts, the bank emphasizes five core values: customer focus, service excellence, workforce empowerment, ethical governance, and social responsibility. Through a balanced approach to technology, sustainability, and strong governance, Citizens Bank contributes significantly to Nepal's economic and social development.
