Chinese Luxury EV Brand Hongqi Enters Nepal Market
Hongqi, China's iconic luxury automobile brand known for serving the country's top leadership, has officially entered the Nepali market through its authorized distributor, Advanced Automobiles Pvt. Ltd. The brand will make its public debut at the Nepal Mobility Expo 2026.
The company plans to introduce premium electric SUVs in the initial phase, with prices expected to start between Rs. 6 million and Rs. 6.5 million. The first models likely to arrive include the Hongqi E-HS9 and E-HS7 electric SUVs.
Owned by China's state-run FAW Group, Hongqi has evolved from a government-exclusive brand into a global luxury EV manufacturer. In 2025, the company sold over 460,000 vehicles worldwide, including nearly 149,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs), and is rapidly expanding its presence across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Hongqi has moved from its early phase as a government car brand to being the China luxury electric car manufacturer, globally.
With the launch, Nepal's premium electric vehicle market gains another international luxury brand, further expanding choices for EV buyers amid rising demand for electric mobility.
