Central Bank Instructs BFIs to Remain Open on Holidays for Tax Collection
Nepal Rastra Bank has instructed all licensed banks and financial institutions to remain open even during the holidays for tax collection purposes.
Now, BFIs will have to remain open for national revenue collection from the 25th to the month's end in the month of Ashoj, Poush, Chaitra, and Ashad. This instruction should be followed even if there are Saturdays or government-declared holidays between the 25th and the end of the months mentioned above.
The internal revenue department, tax service offices, cheque clearing departments, and revenue collection for customs should all be open during the specified time period on the aforementioned months.
With this, banks and financial institutions will remain open tomorrow (Saturday) and on Sunday (Ghodejatra) for government revenue collection purposes.
