CDS and Clearing Limited (CDSC) has announced the resumption of clearing and settlement services that were disrupted following recent protests on Bhadra 23 and 24. The disturbances, coupled with vandalism, caused technical problems in the payment system, preventing settlement operations from functioning smoothly.

In a notice issued today, CDSC stated that due to these challenges, member brokers were unable to complete their clearing and settlement obligations within the stipulated time frame. As a result, stock transactions carried out through the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Bhadra 23 could not be settled as scheduled.

To address this issue, CDSC has decided to carry forward the pending clearing and settlement tasks. Accordingly, the settlement of transactions dated Bhadra 23 was executed on Bhadra 29, while transactions from Bhadra 24 were also settled on the same day.

The notice further clarified that despite the disruption, all concerned stakeholders, including member brokers and market participants, are requested to adhere to the updated settlement schedule. The institution also assured market participants that necessary arrangements have been made to ensure smooth processing moving forward.
