Nepal Cabinet Approves Seven Key Decisions

The Cabinet has made seven major decisions during its latest meeting, government spokesperson Sasmit Pokharel announced.

Here are the seven decisions made by the Cabinet:

  • Approved Updated Data Regulations: The government approved the Statistics (First Amendment) Regulations, 2081.
  • New Head for Investment Board: Appointed Yanki Ukyab as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Investment Board Nepal.
  • Merged Transport and Logistics Entities: Dissolved the Nepal Intermodal Transport Development Committee Formation Order (1997) and approved merging the committee into the Nepal Transit and Warehousing Company Limited.
  • Nationwide Meat Safety Law: Decided to implement the Animal Slaughterhouse and Meat Inspection Act (1999) across the country in phases.
  • Child Rights Law Revision: Approved submitting the Children (First Amendment) Bill, 2081, to the Federal Parliament for legislative consideration.
  • Leadership Appointments for University Grants Commission: Appointed Prof. Dr. Khadga Bahadur KC as Chairman and Prof. Dr. Rojish Shrestha as Secretary to fill the vacant leadership roles at the University Grants Commission.
  • Relief for Protest Victims: Approved compensation, financial relief, and medical care for individuals injured and families of those who died during demonstrations in Sunsari and Siraha districts.
