Big three discuss situation after promulgation of new constitution

Major three political parties- Nepali Congress, CPN-UML and UCPN (Maoist) - discussed seriously the current politics including security issues and India's responses after the new constitution. Nepali Congress Vice-President Ram Chandra Poudel, said the meeting held at Prime Minister's residence, Baluwatar, discussed entire situation, including the security issues situation after the announcement of the new constitution. He added that the parties decided to make the national and international community aware on the contents of the new constitution. Similarly, UML Vice-Chairman Bhim Rawal said they discussed India's response to Nepal following the promulgation of new constitution, its effects and the cautions Nepal has to maintain. Entire security situation of the country was also the major issue during the discussion, he added. According to him, Prime Minister would hold further consultations with the political parties on Wednesday and decide on whether he would leave for US to attend the UN General Assembly. The news on the obstruction of the supply of goods from India also surfaced during the meeting. Moreover, the big parties are to continue talks with the agitating political parties and make clear their stand to bring the agitating ones to the dialogue table, added UML Vice-Chairman Rawal. The meeting reiterated that the big parties were sensitive on the effects of ongoing protests in Tarai/Madhes in view of the national interest and democracy, national unity and harmony. The meeting was attended by Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala, UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli, NC senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba, Vice President Ramchandra Poudel, General Secretaries Krishna Prasad Sitaula and Prakashman Singh, UML's vice chairs Bamdev Gautam, Bhim Rawal and Bidhya Bhandari, General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel and UCPN (Maoist) Vice Chair Narayankaji Shrestha, among others.
