Bagmati Province Government to celebrate Republic Day with three day programmes
The Bagmati Province Government has decided to mark ‘Republic Day 2083’ with a series of programmes over three days from May 27 to May 29. The decision was made in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya, which also formed a Provincial level Republic Day Main Celebration Committee under his leadership. The committee includes the Speaker of the Provincial Assembly, ministers, the opposition leader, the Deputy Speaker, officials from the Provincial Policy and Planning Commission, security chiefs, and representatives of the Federation of Nepali Journalists.
As per the plan, various programmes will be held on each day of the celebration. On May 27, a school level essay competition titled ‘18 Years of Establishment of the Republic: Implementation and Challenges’ will be organised. On May 28, activities including a blood donation program, free health camp, and tree plantation will take place. The main provincial level ceremony will be held on May 29 at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers. The meeting also decided to award four outstanding journalists with Rs 50,000 each on the occasion of Republic Day.
