About 1,000 participants took part in “Run for the Environment 2026: Ek Paila Watawaran ko Lagi,” a 6-kilometer simultaneous solidarity run held in Kathmandu and Pokhara on World Environment Day 2026.

Organized by Doko Foundation with support from United Nations in Nepal, the event brought together youth, families, professionals, artists, and environmental advocates to promote climate action and environmental awareness.

The program featured creative sustainability-focused activities, including art installations made from recycled and repurposed materials, as well as upcycled medals made from reused plastic, highlighting the importance of waste reduction and circular economy practices.

The event, supported by several partner organizations, emphasized community-driven environmental responsibility and demonstrated growing public engagement in sustainability efforts across Nepal.
