APNIC Foundation Visits Baglung to Review Lasting Impact of Rural ICT Project
Representatives from the APNIC Foundation visited Baglung District to assess the long-term impact of the "Bridging the Digital Divide: Empowering Rural Schools with ICT" project, implemented by the Nepal Internet Foundation (NIF) and completed in December 2024. The initiative has continued to benefit 100 students and 19 teachers at two schools in Kathekhola Rural Municipality by providing reliable internet connectivity, hi-tech classrooms, computers, and smart learning tools.

During the visit, the delegation observed that the ICT infrastructure remains fully operational, with teachers and students actively using digital technologies to enhance classroom learning. Community members also highlighted the benefits of expanded internet access through outdoor wireless connectivity. The visit reaffirmed the project's sustainability and its role in improving digital literacy and educational opportunities in remote areas, while underscoring the importance of continued collaboration between NIF and the APNIC Foundation to bridge Nepal's digital divide.
