26 KW electricity generated through wind & solar energy in Jumla

Couple weeks ago, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had turned everybody’s  attention toward wind power to generate electricity. Proposal to harness wind power was tabled in the board meeting of Investment Board Nepal (IBN) as part of the government's plan to end load-shedding within a year. PM Oli leads the board. Electricity has been generated from wind power in Dangibada, Jumla. Jumla is a very windy place and for the  first time electricity has been generated from wind energy. Combination of wind energy and solar energy has been used to generate 26  KW electricity. Electricity generation through wind and solar energy for 140 houses of Tatopani, Dangibada project has been started. Alternative Energy Promotion Centre has started the pilot project in Jumla. The total investment in  electricity generation through wind and solar energy is Rs 1.5 crore.   Source: Kantipur Daily
